On the afternoon of March 26, Professor Guo Quchen, a renowned expert in architectural environment design from Shandong University of Art and Design, was invited by the School of Arts and Design to deliver an academic lecture titled “The AI Era and the Reshaping of Design Life” in the lecture hall on the first floor of the university library. The lecture was presided over by Chen Xuanrong, Vice Dean of the School of Arts and Design. Over 200 faculty members and students attended the lecture.
Professor Guo started from the impact of the AI era on contemporary life, then explored future work paradigms and career prospects from a futuristic, forward-looking perspective. Drawing on his extensive experience in design education and practice, as well as his representative works, he emphasized the need for design students to develop a systematic skill framework integrating “aesthetic sensibility, creative thinking, and comprehensive capabilities” to meet the challenges posed by artificial intelligence. The lecture sparked lively discussions, with enthusiastic participation during the Q&A session, where Professor Guo provided insightful and accessible responses to questions from the audience.
Following the lecture, Professor Guo engaged in a seminar with faculty members to discuss discipline development and pedagogical innovation in design education.
This successful academic event not only broadened participants’ professional horizons but also served as a significant catalyst for advancing AIGC-enhanced curriculum development, talent cultivation reform, and high-level creative project applications in the university’s art and design disciplines.
