On the afternoon of March 28, Professor Zhang Hui from China Agricultural University was invited by the School of Marxism to deliver an academic lecture titled “How to Correctly Understand the Socialist Market Economy with Chinese Characteristics” in the east conference room on the first floor of the Administration Building. The lecture was presided over by Niu Tiansheng, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism, with graduate supervisors and all postgraduate students in attendance.
Professor Zhang Hui began by analyzing China’s current economic realities, addressing potential crises in its development. Through an international comparative study, she examined the impact of economic crises on both China and the United States, as well as their respective responses. She concluded by highlighting the key to China’s economic success—the socialist market economy. The event ended with an interactive Q&A session between Professor Zhang and the students. Her presentation was both profound and engaging, offering a macro-level perspective while stimulating critical thinking. The lecture thoroughly addressed pivotal aspects of China’s economic development, equipping students with systematic insights into its trajectory.
This lecture marked a significant initiative in the School of Marxism’s disciplinary development. It deepened students’ understanding of the socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics and sharpened their ability to apply Marxist economic principles to real-world issues. Additionally, it provided key academic support for cultivating a new generation of Marxist talent.
