On November 3, the results of the finals of the 2025 National Digital Building Innovation Application Competition were announced. Nine teams from the BIM Center of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture won six First Prizes, one Second Prize, and two Third Prizes, setting the best record for our university in this competition.

Organized by the China Association of Construction Education, this competition is listed in the Ministry of Education’s catalog of national college student competitions and serves as a benchmark in promoting the digital transformation of the construction industry. The competition focuses on three cutting-edge areas: BIM digital design modeling, digital construction project management, and construction engineering measurement and valuation. Since its launch in April 2025, it has attracted fierce competition from over 3,300 teams and more than 13,000 teachers and students nationwide.

During the preparation period, the teacher-student team of the school’s BIM Center devoted themselves fully, entering a high-intensity “assault mode”. To overcome technical bottlenecks, team members stayed in the laboratory for months, often debugging parameters late into the night; to ensure millimeter-level accuracy of building models, the team meticulously calibrated data and actively explored methods to improve efficiency; when perfecting construction simulation plans, groups fearlessly started over more than ten times after failures, and analyzed animations frame by frame until dawn to clarify process logic. Instructors provided full follow-up and implemented precise “one-student-one-plan” guidance, solidifying students’ professional abilities step by step, from software operation to project collaboration.

It is reported that NYNU will take this opportunity to continue deepening the construction of “New Engineering”, focus on the frontier field of digital building, further promote the deep integration of industry, academia, research, and application, and strive to cultivate high-quality interdisciplinary talents with solid technical skills and broad innovative vision, providing solid support for serving the “Digital China” strategy and promoting the modernization and upgrading of the construction industry.
