Recently, at the invitation of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering, Professor Zhang Changqing, Doctoral Supervisor from the College of Artificial Intelligence at Tianjin University, delivered an academic lecture. The academic event was chaired by Lan Yihua, Vice Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering, and was attended by faculty representatives and some graduate students from the school.
Under the title “Multimodal Representation Learning and Reasoning: Theory, Technology, and Applications”, Zhang Changqing started from the complex characteristics of multimodal data such as complementarity and redundancy. Taking uncertainty as the core perspective, he systematically sorted out the theoretical framework for high-quality multimodal data representation and reasoning. He not only dissected the core difficulties in technology implementation but also demonstrated the practical value of these methods by combining real-world application scenarios. In the subsequent exchange session, Zhang Changqing provided detailed answers to the confusions encountered by attending faculty and graduate students in their research.
This academic exchange focused on the research frontiers and practical applications in the multimodal field, deepening the participants’ in-depth understanding of the technical principles and industrial applications in this area, and injecting new momentum into subsequent scientific research work.
