Recently, the national-level Eighth National University Chemical Engineering Experiment Competition—hosted by the China Association of Chemical Education—concluded successfully. Designed to advance the “New Engineering” initiative in chemical engineering programs at institutions of higher education, the competition drew over 2,400 teams from 366 universities nationwide. Under the guidance of instructors Wang Lin, Tang Yufeng, Li Bo, and Wang Wei, the “Dream Chasers Team”—composed of Zhang Xueke, Geng Sihao, and Li Yawen (all Applied Chemistry majors from the School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Engineering)—claimed the Top Prize in the regional competition, advanced to the national finals, and ultimately secured the National First Prize. Another team from the same school, “Shengyu Jingnan Team” (members: Shi Xincheng, Liu Juan, Lu Shenrong), won the Second Prize in the Central-South Regional Competition. This marks the second consecutive year that our university has achieved historic outcomes in this event.
Separately, the National University Chemical Design Competition—another national-level event jointly organized by the China Association of Chemical Education and the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China—stands as the largest, highest-level, and most influential competition in China’s chemical engineering field. This year’s edition attracted 4,760 teams from 479 universities across the country. Under the mentorship of instructors Tang Yufeng, Li Xuyang, and Zhang Haijiao, the “DMSO Zero-Carbon Workshop Team”—composed of Wang Jiahui, Wang Shunshun, Zhao Wenjie, Li Nan, and Sun Mengxiong (also Applied Chemistry majors from the School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Engineering)—was awarded the National Third Prize.
