


To deepen international perspectives and expand cooperation channels, Nanyang Normal University held an online collaboration exchange meeting with the University of Glasgow, UK on the afternoon of 28 May 2025 in the Conference Room in the first floor of the Administration Building. Professor Shi Xiaogang from the University of Glasgow visited for academic exchange, and Vice President Xiong Xinzhong attended the meeting, presenting Professor Shi with an honorary professorship appointment certificate on behalf of NYNU. Representatives from the Office of Science and Technology, Graduate School, International Office, and the School of Water Resources and Modern Agriculture participated in the discussions.
Vice President Xiong warmly welcomed Professor Shi and highlighted NYNU’s recent achievements in international collaboration. Xiong expressed hope that Professor Shi would serve as a bridge to connect NYNU with world-class educational resources, deepen Sino-foreign cooperative education, and create more opportunities for faculty and student exchanges, academic collaboration, and advanced studies abroad.
Professor Shi expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception and shared his enthusiasm for future cooperation. He suggested starting with joint research initiatives in water resources and modern agriculture and gradually expanding successful models to broader disciplines to enhance the depth and scope of collaboration. He expressed confidence that through joint efforts, the two universities would achieve significant outcomes in high-level talent cultivation programs, including joint master’s and doctoral programs.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on collaboration details, including joint development of master’s programs and the establishment of a multi-level talent training system spanning undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies.
This meeting signifies a significant milestone in strengthening NYNU’s global partnerships and advancing its internationalization strategy. The university remains committed to fostering high-quality academic exchanges and cultivating globally competitive talent.
