
On the afternoon of March 17, Professor Fu Jingbao from Henan University of Engineering was invited by the School of Geography and Tourism to deliver an academic lecture titled “Insights and Reflections on Scientific Research and Project Applications: A Case Study of the South-to-North Water Diversion Research” in the lecture hall of the West Campus Library. The lecture was chaired by Lu Fengxian, Dean of the School. Over 180 faculty members, postgraduate, and undergraduate students attended the lecture.
Professor Fu reflected on his academic journey and research career, sharing his profound connection with the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. He emphasized the importance of aligning research directions with national strategic needs. Using his research on the central route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project as an example, he highlighted how universities should leverage regional characteristics to achieve breakthroughs through persistent efforts. Additionally, he shared practical experiences in applying for National Natural Science Foundation projects, demonstrating how to integrate research topics with national policies and societal demands.
In his concluding remarks, Lu Fengxian praised the lecture for its inspiring and practical insights, which provided new perspectives for refining research directions and applying for scientific projects. He called on attendees to learn from Professor Fu’s rigorous scholarship and persistent exploration in scientific research.
