From October 28 to November 1, the 26th China International Education Annual Conference, themed “Seeing the World through Education”, was held in Beijing. Vice President Xiong Xinzhong was invited to lead a delegation to the conference and held special talks with the Vice President of Troy University, USA, during the event to discuss collaborative development between the two institutions.
Both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges regarding the jointly operated Sino-American 121 Pilot Class Program. They discussed its implementation progress, phased achievements, and future development directions.
Vice President Xiong introduced the students’ course learning situation in the program, shared operational experiences and summaries, fully affirmed the results achieved, and outlined prospects for future cooperation. He suggested that, to further deepen collaboration, the successful model, curriculum resources, and cooperative majors of the pilot class could be opened to more disciplines. This would promote cooperation from point to area, so as to achieve multi-dimensional and deep-level integrated development.
The Vice President of Troy University highly praised NYNU’s efficient work and outcomes in international cooperative education. He specifically noted that the curriculum of the 121 Pilot Class is scientific, reasonable, and substantial in teaching content, laying a solid foundation for student development. Both parties agreed to strengthen communication and coordination to jointly advance the program to a higher level.
During the conference, Vice President Xiong also participated in several high-level international education forums. These included the 6th Sino-American Provincial and State University Presidents Forum, the Seminar on High-Quality Development of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education, and the China-Europe Innovation Forum on Education and Research Collaboration. He held in-depth exchanges with international education counterparts, discussing trends in higher education, cultivation of internationalized talents, and research collaboration. Vice President Xiong also introduced NYNU’s school-running characteristics and development achievements, exchanged views on potential cooperation areas, and laid the groundwork for advancing cooperation with high-level universities in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries.
This exchange represents a significant step by our university in advancing its internationalization strategy and integrating into global higher education development. It aims to effectively expand the international cooperation network, deepen mutual understanding with foreign institutions, and pave the way for substantive collaborations in student-faculty exchanges, scientific research, and joint talent cultivation.
